      Flexible work location and great vacation/sick time

      Cons

      Leadership is not transparent or supporting of employees. Employees do not have a way to be upwardly mobile (promotions, raises, bonuses) without leaving the current position and/or department.

      Ivy Tech Community College is losing sight of its main purpose; teaching

      Pros

      Students can receive an adequate education that leads to career opportunities that are only possible with a degree or certificate.

      Cons

      Ivy Tech Community College is pushing a "conveyor-belt" method of extracting tuition from students. The plan is to get students in and out as quickly as possible. This sounds good in theory, but students are losing the "community college" experience where they should have better access to personal assistance. Further, full-time professors are assigned 7-9 classes per semester. It is a madhouse.

      1. The friendliest place I have ever worked with. People you don't know say hello in the hallway. 2. The passion and determination that employees have toward our student's success inspires me every day!

      Cons

      1. Pay is dismally low, even for a college. 2. They will not negotiate salary or benefits 3. Hiring process is chaotic, at least from HR perspective and the rep I worked with .
