      Pros

      Contributing to the success of students who are working so hard is valuable.

      Cons

      This college has a long way to go in the area of a respectful and equitable work culture. Lacking in policies for parenting faculty, paternalistic and hierarchical. Review policies should be appropriate for faculty and research based. Lacking a faculty senate has meant that issues go unattended. Kiss up and kick down management, favoritism and bullying, "If the faculty don't like what we are doing, they can leave" - Heard this once too often. Blatant disrespect.

      A "Good Ol' Boys" Club with Very Little Room to Grow

      Pros

      There are some very nice people who work there and the college is helping students graduate who wouldn't otherwise have an opportunity to go to college.

      Cons

      Politics rule everything and if you aren't "drinking the Kool-Aid" you won't be promoted, supported, or otherwise have a pleasant experience.

      Pros

      Most co-workers were great people who truly cared about the students, and it was a joy to be able to help students achieve their goals. I rarely had to work more than 40-45 hours a week or take work home with me, which was great.

      Cons

      Terrible pay and benefits (not vested in your retirement fund until 10 years with Ivy Tech, for example). Too many people had jobs and did absolutely nothing. Saw time and again students given wrong information by employees, sometimes screwing the students over pretty badly. I've never seen a more disorganized mess.
