Pros
For the most part, we get to work with highly intelligent people. Depending on your role, you'll have the opportunity to travel the country/world. Adequate pay and bonus structure, assuming the company achieves internal targets. Opportunities are created for those who are willing to work for them.
Cons
It can be very difficult to terminate an employee, for various reasons. An employee could easily get by with poor performance for years without being held accountable. He or she would have to take a dump on the CEOs desk in order to be terminated immediately - anything short of that wouldn't get attention. Seemingly, all decisions are made by the CEO and with little or no context.
