      Pros

      This is a great job for a college student. The schedule is flexible to accommodate changing class schedules, and you can do your school work during down times. Benefits are great (arguably the best in Lynchburg, VA), employee discounts are awesome and you get a lot of PTO. This is an ideal position for someone who is simply looking for an income to pay bills. I was on the Email/Chat team where we could listen to music as we worked. Basically, J.Crew puts a lot of emphasis on customer service, so CSRs get a lot of perks.

      Cons

      Lots of favoritism and job politics. It's hard to get ahead if a member of management simply does not like you. Also, it's required that you work one day of the weekend, Saturday or Sunday.

      Pros

      The discount on clothing was a definite perk working as a store associate. You received up to 60% off items.

      Cons

      The manager at the Bridgewater, NJ location was a phony. Had very little trust in/respect for employees. The pay was also very minimal. I was making $8.50 starting and after a year was given a $.25 raise. Commission was hardly anything and you were required to be "on-call" which was a very ineffective and unfair situation.
