Pros

They were very generous in times of need especially during Covid. Good benefits. For the most part, there is room for growth within JP Morgan as a whole. There just wasn't in the sector I worked for, but you can really apply and transfer for work anywhere within the company.

Cons

Just another one of these big corporations who ignore the people at the bottom doing the work. They don't take HR complaints seriously, including their own policies of retaliation. They toot their horn about transparency and an absolute zero tolerance retaliation policy, but in my sector, it was all talk. Definitely saw people get seriously impacted in a negative way or even let go for speaking out against management. The management gets away with murder and can do no wrong. Most of the management I worked under were very unprofessional, some grossly incompetent and unfit for their role. They liked to hire management from outside the line of work who had no qualifications aside from previously being a JP Morgan employee. Really miffed a lot of the local talent who knew the work and were actually qualified to step into those leadership roles. We had an end of year survey about our direct supervisor. When the results were tallied a meeting was called with upper management because of how displeased our division was with this person. During that meeting we did not hold back. It was an hour and a half of allegations against this person and their unprofessionalism. They should have been fired right then and there. I mean this person makes racist remarks, messed with people's pay, had clear retaliation and vindictiveness towards their employees and after all that they kept them without any disciplinary action. That was almost 5 years ago and they are still there in management. When I look back on my experience at JP Morgan, the undeniable truth of it was-terrible management, being backed by a big corporation that supported their bad behavior.
