Pros

Always plenty of work but company made sure employees could get together for team building activities. Very strong on processes and procedures. Very little flying by the seat of your pants.

Cons

Sometimes process and procedures were so tight it delayed getting assignments done in a timely fashion. Divisions of authority could be frustrating and the cut back in the help desk staff created difficulties.

Pros

JPMorgan is one of the biggest, and maybe one of the best large banks. Employees have an enormous amount of information at your fingertips, if you have enough time to read it. The business has changed radically since the financial crisis, with a heavier focus on compliance and the bottom line, but a stellar suite of products and customer-facing technology, not to mention the perks of working for a large corporate sponsor. A great place to have on your resume.

Cons

True to any large organization, interior mobility is challenging, there is a burdensome amount bureaucracy and nepotism. Top down communication is frequently unclear and intentionally misleading. There are many different lines of business so an employee’s experience may be radically different depending on where they sit, but work is typically unevenly divided with good employees overburdened leaving less-than-stellar employees with plenty of time to network and get promoted.

Pros

Would be a good first job. Taught me that I will never work corporate or for the government. Looks good on resume.

Cons

Outdated technology, slow moving, not agile, bureaucracy, low pay compared to market, bad benefits compared to market, awful raises/bonuses compared to market. Crazy workload, hours, MEETINGS. Name of the game is the blame game. Toxic culture. Like living in a Catch-22. Total nightmare.
