Pros
Good wages for the area, lots of variation in job roles, and decent oppurtunities for progression (provided you're a good fit for the company obviously.) The majority of the people working at "line level" are friendly.
Cons
Very male dominated working environment, management do not treat people under them with respect (I've witnessed people being shouted down in the middle of the office by senior management on more than one occasion.) Holidays are 100% set with no flexibility (except for at the World Parts Centre where they're flexible.) Due to the hierarchical structure where management are considered infallible, people are afraid to speak up with problems, and a significant blame culture is present in most areas. Management also put a lot of undue pressure on their underlings (suprisingly this is more evident in the offices than on the line) which significantly hurts workplace morale, it's not surprising to see people in tears on a regular basis. HR are mostly useless with the exception of a couple of individuals (one of whom has since left the company.) Job security is also non existant, I understand this is a problem in a lot of companies, but it's a larger issue at JCB where they seem to recruit a lot in the first half of the year and then lay off a hundred or so staff members just before Christmas. I could go on, but overall I wouldn't recommend JCB as an employer, but it is difficult to avoid them as they're pretty much the only large employer in the area.
