Pros

JLR gives you opportunities for making a difference, most pains are due to growth and this can come in many forms. From people with vision making it count, a great manufacturing reality based view to a sometimes annoying political view for work. Too much influence of consulting companies. In reality is a place that helps you if you work hard and communicate well. And the cars are amazing!

Cons

The isolation between plants or sites, sometimes different tribes, the high political impact of unknown new people at JLR without an understood agenda.

Hello and thank you for an insightful review. You're right that growth provides challenges but that we're dedicated to supporting all our people grow as we do. We're investing heavily in FY16, with £3bn for new products and infrastructure. Communication as you say is vital, as we continue to look for ways to have a shared vision across teams, departments and locations.

Pros

Plenty of opportunities for training and development, well structured grades and progression opportunities for most. Full of great people who are passionate about the product.

Cons

Limited progression opportunities for engineers who want to be specialising in subjects. If you're a good project and personnel manager you can go far but don't expect to be supported if you want to specialise and lead a technical team. Traffic and parking is a nightmare.
