      Pros

      As a merchandiser for Jacent you have more freedom with orders and placement of products. You know your store and what sells.

      Cons

      Everything else. The pay is not increased once a year. The hours given to work the stores properly to make a profit is ridiculous. The new Arizona warehouse is the worst. Products are completely out of order and stickers are place in front of the product packaging where it tears the container making the product look like crap. Good luck selling that. Employee quit left and right and I get stuck working their stores when I don't have time to do it. Handheld device is slow and the numbers to enter are super tiny on the screen.

      Pros

      The upper management team has great "RAH-Rah" conference call every quarter, however, they have no idea how the regional, territory or area managers treat the merchandisers. Training is exceptional but when you get in the stores to actually do what you have been trained to do "The Jacent Way" you are reprimanded by your area manager which is being scolded by their territory manager because the numbers are too high to make a profit. There is NEVER enough time allotted to the professional job you are trained to do.

      Cons

      Territory managers could care less about the customer or condition of the stores just the bottom line numbers. Don't expect support from management staff 1800 miles away. You are just another piece of meat to fill strips in a short allotted time. If you will work for free to please the stores JACENT is the company for you. Jacent managers do not have to deal with the store directors face to face so they will tell them anything to pacify them until the next time you as a merchandiser goes in to do your job. Never ending circle of bad business. The merchandiser is to blame because they are the ones have hands on in the stores.
