Pros

I had did not have a single positive experience while working at Jaipur.

Cons

The root of the problem is this: the CEO, Asha Chaudhary, never had another job prior to becoming CEO of her father's company. Asha literally went from business school to CEO. As a result her company is very flawed. I was in the marketing department. My managers never made me feel like I was part of the team. I was just there to get the tasks that they requested done. There was little leadership demonstrated and it was clear that my managers, at least in the marketing department, were only interested in their own self interests and not the betterment of the company as a whole. Jaipur is an unethical company with terrible leadership. I know for a fact that the few good reviews on Glassdoor were bribed out of employees by the HR department. Do no work at this company. My experience there was very disappointing because I fell in love with the story of the company and what I thought it was about: empowering artisans across the world and bringing an ancient craft to a modern market. This all a glossy story and is not true. These are not good people to work for.

I am sorry that you feel you did not have a single, positive experience while at Jaipur. Asha Chaudhary literally grew up with the company in her home, with 2 looms and 9 artisans. Because of her leadership, the company has grown to over 40,000 artisans and has made Inc's magazine's list of the 5000 fastest private growing companies for the past 2 years. It takes a GREAT CEO to make this happen. I don't think anyone can discount the fact that our artisans have been giving amazing opportunities to be empowered by becoming entrepreneurs, opportunities for free education, training, and healthcare. No one has been bribed to write a positive review. Positive reviews are not only encouraged, but do exist on our profile. Connie Kasputis HR Manager

Pros

One of the best things I've experienced at Jaipur is strong "family" environment that is established between coworkers. Even throughout the different departments, everyone encourages each other and works together. Management does an excellent job of making sure the employees feel appreciated whether it's through companies parties, BBQs, trainings, etc. you can tell that they really invest in their people. Jaipur is definitely a growing company and I'm excited to see what's on the horizon for them.

Cons

There are some employees who engage in office gossip, but if you choose to focus on your work and avoid negative conversations, you'll be fine.

Thank you for this review! At Jaipur, all of us have become family, not just the family members themselves. Yes, there are a few who still engage in office gossip, but it is becoming less of an issue since others are now holding each other accountable for their actions as well as their behavior. We will definitely work on providing more communication and positive feedback! Connie Kasputis, HR Manager

Pros

Jaipur Rugs was not my first choice but a friend of mine told me about it and I was curious enough to give it a try. I joined and enjoyed the work with the pinch of "family values" which were in the air all the time. I soon got a chance to work in the industry of my choice and left Jaipur Rugs but can safely say that it was worth the time and the experience for the time I worked there.

Cons

Team leader should have understanding of company expectations and as well as team members career development together. You can not clap with one hand!!
