Pros

Chances are your next job will not be worse than this place.

Cons

Janicki Industries is all about the image that they project to the outside world. It LOOKS like a good place to work, it is not. It LOOKS like they have a clue what they are doing, they do not. A few days there and the hell you just signed up for will begin to sink in. I sure wish I knew about about glassdoor when I was fresh out of school. Perhaps that would have swayed me to LOOK elsewhere. Oh well, the past is the past, live and learn as they say. From a business standpoint Janicki Industries has a great deal of things going for it. They have clean, modern facilities with state of the art equipment. The company works on high profile and lucrative projects for the Aerospace and Defense industries. Yes, they have definitely carved out their place in a niche field with extreme barriers to entry. Where the company is lacking is in its choices of people in management and their attitudes towards its workers. The management philosophy at this place is that workers are merely a means to an end and not human beings. Workers are simply cannon fodder to be used up and than disposed of at the first opportunity. The company has no problem making promises to get you in the door and than reneges immediately once they got you by the cajones. Fear and bullying is the norm at this place, and punishment is heavy handed. There is a constant paranoia in the workforce and no shortage of rumors floating around. Company is very nepotistic, tons of relatives in positions all throughout. If there is any conflict involving you and one of them expect to be shown the door in short order. There also seems to be a spy network of some sort at this place. Don't expect to do anything "wrong" and not get caught. It also doesn't help that the companies workload fluctuates immensely. Meaning there are periods of an abundance of work and massive hiring. When the projects end (which they will), there will be a mass exodus of people in the form layoffs and firings. When I was there for my brief stint I probably saw close to 150 people let go. This is a company of around 500. Workers are pitted against each other in a hunger games style death-match to be the last man standing as the workload begins to dwindle. So in summary, if you live in Skagit county take a job here if you need to pay your bills for a while. I wouldn't advise anyone to move halfway across the country based on some vague promises, all you will be doing is setting yourself up for failure and disappointment. It could be a long drive home.

Mismanaged and sinking

Pros

Location, location, location. Casual attire normal at the office.

Cons

Micromanaging like I've never seen before. Treats employees like trash. Underpays employees. Stuck in old ways, unwilling to change. Awful culture, basically non-existent. No one wants to be there. Claims to be a family company but does not care about you or your family at all. If you are a relative you have a job regardless of performance, if not, maybe try to marry in ?
