Plenty of room for advancement. Steady challenging work. Great employee benefits. I am very pleased with the team I am working with. They are great people who genuinely care about what they do. Managers have been great in providing feedback to questions and helping to implement changes when needed. Employees seem to really like working here.

Cons

I didn't come to work here sooner.

Pros

Janicki offers steady employment in a really cool community. Skagit Valley is a very fun and beautiful place to live and work. Janicki has a commitment to strive to be a clean and safe area to work which can be challenging. There is room for growth if you work hard and put in the time. Pay and position can and does increase with diligence. There are at least 8 managers including myself who have been working up the ranks through the years as well as other in other positions. I have seen first hand upper management make the call to take a loss rather than lay off during slow times. I know of senior officials who have let guys go and then be willing to meet up with them for drinks and discuss opportunities to bring them back with change of attitude. I came across this site with all these negitive reviews and I for one understand there have been some challenges we have worked through but nowhere what these reviews make it out to be. Not only that but the whole company has really put forth the effort to make an even better place which other companies don't even put forth half what this team does. I really appreciate my job and the crews I work with.

Cons

The work can be hard and the days can be long. There have been periods of lot's of over time as the company has reached for goals.

Pros

Chances are your next job will not be worse than this place.

Cons

Janicki Industries is all about the image that they project to the outside world. It LOOKS like a good place to work, it is not. It LOOKS like they have a clue what they are doing, they do not. A few days there and the hell you just signed up for will begin to sink in. I sure wish I knew about about glassdoor when I was fresh out of school. Perhaps that would have swayed me to LOOK elsewhere. Oh well, the past is the past, live and learn as they say. From a business standpoint Janicki Industries has a great deal of things going for it. They have clean, modern facilities with state of the art equipment. The company works on high profile and lucrative projects for the Aerospace and Defense industries. Yes, they have definitely carved out their place in a niche field with extreme barriers to entry. Where the company is lacking is in its choices of people in management and their attitudes towards its workers. The management philosophy at this place is that workers are merely a means to an end and not human beings. Workers are simply cannon fodder to be used up and than disposed of at the first opportunity. The company has no problem making promises to get you in the door and than reneges immediately once they got you by the cajones. Fear and bullying is the norm at this place, and punishment is heavy handed. There is a constant paranoia in the workforce and no shortage of rumors floating around. Company is very nepotistic, tons of relatives in positions all throughout. If there is any conflict involving you and one of them expect to be shown the door in short order. There also seems to be a spy network of some sort at this place. Don't expect to do anything "wrong" and not get caught. It also doesn't help that the companies workload fluctuates immensely. Meaning there are periods of an abundance of work and massive hiring. When the projects end (which they will), there will be a mass exodus of people in the form layoffs and firings. When I was there for my brief stint I probably saw close to 150 people let go. This is a company of around 500. Workers are pitted against each other in a hunger games style death-match to be the last man standing as the workload begins to dwindle. So in summary, if you live in Skagit county take a job here if you need to pay your bills for a while. I wouldn't advise anyone to move halfway across the country based on some vague promises, all you will be doing is setting yourself up for failure and disappointment. It could be a long drive home.
