Work culture could improve - I know management is working on this, increase diverse hires, and offer more opportunities to grow and be mentored

If you're seeking a meaningful career path, this is not the place. The department is overwhelmed with interns—more than I’ve seen anywhere else—many of whom remain in those positions for years without any clear path to advancement. Promises of growth and opportunity are often made, but rarely fulfilled. The treatment of young professionals is especially troubling. Instead of nurturing potential, the environment discourages ambition, seemingly to protect the status quo. Leadership operates with an authoritarian mindset, creating a culture where speaking up is risky. Those who do raise concerns often face retaliation, including false accusations and professional sabotage. If career growth could be rated below a 1, I would give it a -1000.
