Pros

I feel lucky to have joined Jerry. From day one, the culture has been incredibly welcoming and the people are genuinely some of the kindest and most helpful I've ever worked with. There's a real sense of shared purpose here. The mission and leadership are inspiring, and you can feel everyone across the organization is working together towards the same goals. The work environment is unique. Even with defined teams, it feels fluid; if you have a great idea, you're empowered to jump in and run with it. You're encouraged to focus on problems that excite you and will provide value, which makes the work feel both meaningful and personal. We're very customer-centric, and it's rewarding to know we're solving a truly complex and interesting problem (you'd be shocked to learn how complex insurance is!) I also want to echo what others have said about the interview process. It's intense, yes, but it’s a brilliant way to showcase the passion of the team. The case studies gave me a great taste of the creative, engaging work that we do every day. And the talent team were all just a delight to work with it!! Shoutout to Alana and Gaga who felt like your biggest cheerleaders from day 1 of the process. Tl;dr - collaborative, inspiring, challenging (in a good way)

Cons

I haven't encountered many cons so far, but it's important to note that Jerry is a place for self-starters. There's a lot of autonomy and very little micromanagement. If you thrive on constant daily check-ins and hands-on guidance, this might not be the best fit for you. There isn't the biggest onboarding program like you'd see at a big firm, but that's startup life.

Thank you for the thoughtful review—glad the collaboration, shared purpose, and empowerment you describe are resonating! We appreciate your perspective on the interview process and will pass along kudos to Alana and Gaga. You’re right that our environment favors self-starters and high autonomy; calling that out helps candidates self-assess. If you have ideas to further strengthen the experience, please share them with the People Team at peopleteam@getjerry.com.

Cons

It's a start up, so the pace can be a bit faster.

Cons

JOBSEEKERS BEWARE!!! What you're told: Jerry is full of "high-bar"and "competitive" talent. Reality: Incompetent leaders, full of early-career individuals with Stockholm Syndrome that don't know any better. Competent people from reputable companies leave before their 6 months. Some people have left in UNDER 4 months and then removed Jerry from their LinkedIn altogether. How embarrassing. What you're told: Leadership are experts who are also nice. Reality: Leadership is incompetent and micromanage their teams out of fear and self-doubt. Leaders have no idea how to take the product to the next level. CEO is a hawk in Asana asking why things aren't done faster, not knowing quality if it hit him in the face. What you're told: Great place to work and grow. Reality: Long hours and quick turnarounds are an expectation, especially if you work closely with eng, expect late night meetings. Your career will stall and your happiness will plummet. Most toxic place I've ever worked in 15+ years.

Thank you for sharing this candid feedback. I’m sorry your experience at Jerry felt frustrating—especially around leadership, workload, and communication. We hold a high bar, and our goal is to pair high standards with clear priorities, support, and psychological safety. When we miss that, we want to know. If you’re open to it, we’d value specifics (team, timeframe, examples) so we can address any concerns directly. Please email peopleteam@getjerry.com or the VP of People Operations—your feedback will be handled confidentially. Thank you for holding us accountable and giving us the opportunity to look into potential blindspots.
