No leadership. None.

Pros

Flexible work schedule (salaried)

Cons

Mid level mgmt is lacking severely in leadership & in staff development. As a TYCO legacy employee (Simplex Fire Protection) that transitioned with the buy out, I witnessed no opportunities for us as upper jobs were being filled with JCI people and legacy staff were let go. No cross training or advancement opportunities for TYCO legacy staff. None. Death to a career of almost 20 years.

Middle management heavy

Pros

Great co-workers and decent benefits. Company car and expense account

Cons

The commission plan changed every other year and it was not always to the salesman’s benefit. The company is middle management heavy and most of them got their jobs based on who they knew not what they know. They started to implement micromanaging to keep an eye on under performers instead of trusting the performers and firing the slackers.
