Pros

Wonderful cause, good work/life balance, some good people. Fair salaries. If you fit in, promotions are possible and there is a chance to move into other areas of the business.

Cons

Unrealistic targets can be set without adequate support. There are conflicting priorities and a lack of strong leadership. The lack of effective leadership has led to a culture of bullying and disrespect which when raised may get investigated but is tolerated. If you don't fit in, you won't feel welcome and in extreme cases will be pushed out by hostile members of staff. Pictures of Black fundraisers may be used on the website to promote a 'woke' image but there is a woeful lack of diversity within the company.

Pros

I am sitting here reading these reviews and looking around the office and thinking this is not the JustGiving I work at. So thought I would give my own anonymous opinion. I have worked here for several years now, there have been ups and downs but nothing to the extend of I am going to quit this amazing company. My role is heavily committed to the support of a leading technology team, one of which has very experienced developers with many years of experience. In addition to this I play a key role in the wider organisation, so please listen and read my personal reflection. Every day members from all around the company say hi to each other, non-technical and technical individuals being welcoming of each other. Some people do their 9 to 5 and leave, while others are so passionate that they spend a lot of their own time helping to develop JustGiving, all for the greater good. Those that put in more effort are appreciated just as much as those who do their working hours. There is an amazing team culture, more like a family, where everybody is willing to help each other. Some of these comments said about strong opinions and egos, what I see is passionate developers with a focus on improvement. They listen to suggestions as long as it is backed with reason, justifications and logic. JustGiving TMT and wider MT have a vision of where the company and are appreciative of input from all developers. Discovery phases of projects where all individuals involved identify, plan and work out what the project looks like. Fun office culture, ping pong, ping pong tournaments, board games, whisky club, gaming club, social club. Teams that go for drinks. Free cereal, fruit, soft drinks, coffee and tea. Vegan and gluten alternatives. Pizza meetings run roughly every quarter. Tech day, a day of innovation every 2 weeks. Good documentation, could be better but work in progress. Amazing opportunities for career growth, just make sure your visions are communicated with your manager.

Cons

Sometimes little say on projects as requirements are driven from the business and user research. Not really a negative, it is more logical.
