Pros
If you are an accounting major planning to stay in an accounting-centric role for rest of your life, as it has been for the past decades, B4 is a great stepping stone and an amazing resume booster. As long as you can stick through the grueling busy season and non-busy season hours (the firm leadership has a new initiative to front load a lot of audit work during the summer busy season to avoid hefty busy season at the cost of a more relaxing summer non-busy season) for 2-3 years to hit the Senior promotion, your future self will thank you for the sacrifice. You will have exposure to various industry sectors where you can pretty much have a bird eye view over the entire company's IT and operational processes. By having a bird eye view, it will also allow for you to look at the company in a a big picture and understand how to analyze, interpret, and understand the financial statements and where the underlying risks are.
Cons
What can I say? It's as everyone says, grueling hours during busy season which will quickly if not slowly burn you out mentally and physically. The nature of the job is client-focused so as always, client's demands and priorities will come first. You will go through plenty of fire drills during busy season which will make you question the nature of the work and why you chose this profession.
