Great Place to Start

Pros

Overall mission is fantastic, the structure and vision from leadership is good, reasonable pay, especially for a non profit.

Cons

While the structure and vision are good, the follow through is poor. Inconsistencies abound, time management does not seem to be valued. Must have a flexible personality, yet know your boundaries and be willing to draw the line, or you can slide into 16-hour days all to easily and no one will stop you. Don't hold your job description as gospel truth. It can change.

Thank you for your review. It's great to hear that we're doing well in some areas - mission, leadership and compensation - but it's also reasonable to expect that there are areas where we can improve. We wish you had specified your location or department so we can implement some targeted improvements, but even without knowing specifics, we can take your suggestions about management and follow-through to heart. We'll continue working to improve at this level of mentoring, coaching and supporting staff.

KVC Nebraska is a incredible place!

Pros

I took a leap and joined the KVC Nebraska team and I could not be happier. KVC NE lives the agency values in working with adults, youth and families in Nebraska. KVC is innovative and truly working to better the lives of Nebraskans. KVC has a family like feel and strives to create a safe, honest and supportive work environment. Social work is hard, and no one is going to "get rich" doing this work. KVC provides competitive pay while also providing many "non financial" perks, such as flexible schedules and use of technology to lighten to paperwork portion of this work. KVC is awesome - highly recommend joining this incredible team of professionals.

Cons

This work is hard, so while not a con to this agency it is important to be prepared for this.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Since you didn't specify your location, department or role, it's difficult for us to make improvements that directly address your unique situation. That said, we agree that being a team and having a meeting always involves listening; both giving and getting feedback are critical and make us better. Since you are a current employee, would you consider reaching out to your business unit President or HR team to provide more targeted suggestions? We would love to hear more from you. Thanks.
