Flexible schedule and usually good about getting paid time off days.

Cons

There are employees who are toxic and create problems. Managers ignore most of it. At times it rises to hostile environment.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We always try to understand where a review is coming from so that we can enact changes if needed. This one is challenging because KVC does not have an FSW/family support worker position in Kentucky. Is it possible that the wrong job title or state is listed? It is true that people with negative energy can negatively impact others around them. KVC has recently launched a new initiative on "making KVC a great place to work" which aims to improve the culture in several ways. We are also exploring ways to provide enhanced training to supervisors. We encourage you to speak with your supervisor to ensure the environment is healthy for all.

Good support from clinical management team. Work in an environment with others who have a vast amount of knowledge and experience.

Cons

The politics of the agency make it difficult to believe in and support the company. There is a disconnect between upper management and the needs of the workers in the field.

Starting in fall 2015, KVC has invested significant time and energy in listening to employees, communicating more with employees, and pursuing initiatives that make KVC a great place to work. Good organization with great staff + good benefits

Flexible schedule - staff are in charge of scheduling their client work so that it meets the needs of the clients as well as allows them to go to doctor's appointments, personal appointments or their own children's activities. Use of fleet vehicles Benefits - deductibles much less than friends of mine at for profit companies, good medical, dental and vision. PTO increases quickly. Staff are caring and compassionate, willing to do what is best for the children and families, go above and beyond what is needed to get the job done. New CEO/President, COO and CFO - exciting to see what changes will come about but yet continuing from where the past executives left off.

Cons

Working in the field with children and families is challenging!!! This job is not for everyone, even if you got your degree in the field. This is not an 8-5, Monday through Friday job. However, if you are in this field you should be highly aware of this fact. Expect to work approximately 45-50 hrs a week if you want to do your job effectively and get your required documentation completed. The Kansas contract we were awarded and began in July 2013 has been the most challenging. It seems with every contract the expectations for the private contractors gets harder and the money provided to us doesn't match what is needed to do the work effectively.
