First, there's a lot of prep work you can't get paid for. Second, there can be a lot of driving, which is all on your dime. Third, even though you have to get to the class location early and usually stay late, you can't get paid for anything except the scheduled class time. Fourth, students will contact you with questions, you can't report that time, either. Fifth, there is no advancement potential. Sixth, you are rated by the students (excellent, good, fair, poor), and management only wants to see "excellent." Seventh, there is no ongoing teacher training. Ninth, the marketing people make all sorts of promises to parents and students which the teachers have to make good on.
