Pros

-**great people (smart, willing to help and jump in, fun) -I'm always learning, growing, and getting opportunities -great culture - the type with dogs in the office and lunch brought in on Fridays -great location -always challenged to solve complex problems -never boring -exciting to be involved with a growing company

Cons

Many of the pros I listed can become cons when I am not taking care of myself. When I overbook myself, try to satisfy everyone and lose myself to my work, I get tired, stressed, unhealthy, unproductive, and overwhelmed. Those great things about being challenged and busy become negative. When I take care of myself - I only see the positive here at Kapost for the majority of the time. I am disappointed with many of the reviews on the Kapost glassdoor page because I know many of these people did not take ownership of their own happiness at work. They did not take time for themselves, communicate with their managers about what they needed or were having issues with. There are also instances of people who were just not a good fit for this ever-changing, challenging environment. None of the above justify a resentful, revenge review. If you are curious of what it is like to work here - all you have to do is ask in your interview. Be honest, be yourself and lay out your expectations and see how it goes. I love it here. I don't like it every second of every day, but I would recommend it to everyone who is ready for a challenge and want to grow their professional skills.

Thank you for the feedback! We appreciate it. I couldn't agree more with your point that we are growing together. When we learn from challenges and continue to drive results in doing what is right for our customers and our employees then we win! It takes a growth mindset to see that we are all a part of our success.

Pros

Smart people on the ground and nice benefits - nice office, dogs allowed, nice Boulder location

Cons

When it comes to execution, the company struggles. The product doesn't have a simple version for every day marketers. The legacy code limits it's ability to create a flexible user experience.

Software Engineer Experience

Pros

This was my first position as a software engineer. Other engineers were generally very helpful when I needed direction, the director of engineering met with me weekly to check in and pair on whatever I was working on. The code base is big and the tech stack is deep so I got a lot of opportunity to see new frameworks, tools, and languages and their patterns throughout the code base. And, I got to work on a lot of really interesting and challenging stories. When I left this position after 8 months, I was incredibly well prepared for my next (current) position. Remote at least one day a week. Fabulous PTO. Not sure if this should go in pros or cons: At least in my corner of the building, it's the sort of work environment where folks come in, get their work done, and go home -- not a lot of chatting about life outside of work. It's good if you're a "heads down and get it done" sort of person -- lots of good focus time -- but not a lot of get-to-know-your-coworkers-as-humans time. Lot's of smart folks to learn from and everyone always seems to be doing their best, which I super appreciate.

Cons

Salary is in the average range, but at the low end of average for the Denver metro area. Also, while this isn't a con for me, it might be for others who are new to programming: be ready to get thrown into the deep end of the code base on day 1. There are no junior level tickets. ;)
