I wouldn’t say it’s the worst company

Pros

Casual work environment, plenty of PTO, could have a good future ahead, co-workers seem to really care and want to help, decent health insurance, no nightmare traffic to get into the office or drive home.

Cons

Company makes lots of major changes, the last being about a year ago, they seem to only be hiring in Carlinville now, unless you want to live in a small town with nothing to offer or drive a very long commute this is a major deal breaker, company used to have an open and honest policy, they have now become more closed off and no longer seem to back up what the announce, my one interaction with the CEO left me surprised by his choice of words (30 years ago that might have been acceptable but not in 2018)

Karmak's leadership has never been held more accountable or been more open with our direction to our employees or our customers. Karmak is a great place to work

Pros

Karmak has very employee centric culture. Employees are encouraged to contribute their ideas and empowered to carry them out. the current Executive staff is encouraging and engaging with their employees. There is a good balance between work and personal time at Karmak.

Cons

I really can't think of a downside to working at Karmak, it's not perfect but no company is and the company is always trying to better any negatives that are brought up to management.

Could be great, but bad middle management

Pros

Flexible, family atmosphere, upper management and owner are wonderful as well as coworkers. Located in a great small town. Good benefits and "work hard, play hard" environment. Upper management will listen to the ideas of any level of staff, which is great as long as middle management doesn't get in the way.

Cons

Mid level management needs training on appropriate behavior. Many are great, but a few are horrible. The horrible ones can make life hell, which is hard for upper level management to understand because the great managers do such a wonderful job.
