Pros

Nice people, great place to be. Very down-to-earth, informal culture. Pay at par with top consulting firms. Fair promotion cycle.

Cons

The nature of the projects depend a lot on the region. In Europe we do a lot of strategy work but in NA there is more procurement and operations

Pros

-Cutting edge in the area of Strategic Sourcing -High caliber/intelligent colleagues -Great learning experience -Top notch list of clients

Cons

-Tiered salary structure (Procurement Solution starting salaries are approximately 30% less than Management Consulting group, despite both groups mainly doing Sourcing work) -Limited advancement opportunities for Procurement Solutions - Only one PS consultant has EVER made it to partner -Second class citizen feeling - Hierarchy leads to PS group being looked at as "ugly step sitter" -Poor project leadership - While there are exceptions, most project managers/principals are jerks and more focused on pleasing the client than on getting along with lower level consultants; no 360 degree review system -Very political - Getting ahead requires kissing butt -Good deck writing often used to mask incompetence/lack of subject matter expertise
