Pros

The company is fast-growing and offers opportunities to learn about cybersecurity products and the industry. Unfortunately, the toxic culture and poor management largely offset these positives.

Cons

Keeper Security has a hostile and toxic workplace culture. The CEO’s management style is authoritarian, and employees are expected to comply without question. Unreasonable demands are common, and employees are frequently terminated over relatively minor issues. Layoffs and turnover are alarmingly high, creating a constant culture of fear and instability throughout the company. Employees are afraid of senior leadership and tend to comply without speaking up. Promotions often feel unfair, as individuals favored by leadership are rewarded and promoted regardless of performance or capability. The work environment is toxic and unfriendly, with very little genuine collaboration or support among teams. There is a strong culture of tattling, where employees routinely report each other to management, which fosters distrust and encourages people to undermine one another rather than work together. My manager was often unresponsive to messages, regularly delaying my work. Feedback focused almost entirely on criticism, with little recognition even when results were strong. This is demotivating, and the environment is mentally draining and stressful, wearing employees down over time rather than supporting growth or well-being. Many employees come to work each day worried about losing their jobs. Due to the lack of psychological safety, high turnover, unfair treatment, and poor leadership culture, I strongly recommend others think carefully before joining this company. It has been one of the worst workplaces I have personally experienced.

Keeper Security Response

We respectfully strongly disagree with the characterization of Keeper Security’s leadership and culture. As a fast-growing cybersecurity company, we operate with high standards, clear expectations, and strong accountability. This is not a culture of fear, but one built around performance, ownership, and the discipline required to succeed in a highly competitive and regulated industry. Regarding turnover and terminations, Keeper does not conduct arbitrary layoffs or terminate employees over minor issues. All separations are performance-related and follow structured processes that include clear verbal feedback and opportunities to improve. While performance conversations can be challenging, they are handled deliberately and consistently to ensure fairness and to protect the long-term health of the organization. We take all feedback about management and communication seriously and continue to invest in leadership development, performance coaching, and open channels for employees to raise concerns. We understand that a high-performance environment is not the right fit for everyone, but most of our employees grow, collaborate, and build long-term careers at Keeper. We remain committed to maintaining a professional, accountable, and results-driven workplace.

Pros

First I will start by saying that Keeper is not for everyone. The company is in hypergrowth and has been for awhile. It doesn't look like things will slow down anytime soon. The company is fueled by an autonomous, almost completely remote work environment. People who are specifically looking for a remote environment for the luxury of a slower, not as demanding day, can be sorely mistaken. However, those who work best in a fast-paced (regardless of office location), ever-changing (due to constant innovations and products that truly set Keeper apart from the competition) environment, you won't be disappointed. If you look at LinkedIn and pay attention to the tenure and growth patterns (lots of internal promotions - as those are extremely important here), you will notice that some of these negative comments don't align, at all. Yes, it can be demanding. Yes, pivots happen. Yes, you have to grow personally to keep up with the pace of the company (which is actually a great thing). But it is so worth it. The raises, the internal growth opportunities, the ability to build teams around your passions, the ability to work with top tech with the best resources at your fingertips, the constant kudos and shoutouts from the executive team, the fact that you're working for a company that leads the space it's in. I've been at Keeper for four years and have been promoted multiple times. When I've asked for a resource or help with the growth, I receive it. The entire company is full of amazing, likeminded, hard working people and I feel lucky to collaborate with them daily. Keeper has been the most rewarding company of my career.

Cons

Sometimes working fully remote can be challenging as it can be nice to have in-person human interactions but Keeper does a great job at ensuring solid tools for remote collaboration.

I was nervous at first because of the glassdoor reviews but understand we have new leaders now that has driven out the old toxic culture that once was. Glassdoor cant remove any previous reviews but this company is in a totally different state. Great comp Huge Growth Market Feed Great leaders

Cons

As the company is growing, of course that is going to come with changes and navigating them but leadership does a great job with guidance.
