Pros

Amazing people and a genuinely authentic culture. I’ve made some really good friends here, and there’s a strong sense of trust and transparency across teams. People care deeply about doing the job right and about the success of the people around them, not just their own. On the sales side, it makes a huge difference working for a company where you fully believe in the product. Having customers who are genuinely better off because of what you sell makes the work both easier and far more rewarding.

Cons

Cons are that I didn't get to Keeper sooner!

Pros

Great remote culture with strong collaboration across the team. The company has a flat structure, encourages independence, and offers a fast-paced, autonomous work environment.

Cons

Benefits are limited. The company currently provides only basic health, dental, and vision coverage, with no 401k… wellness perks, or additional employee benefits.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Keeper Security. We’re glad to hear that you’ve enjoyed our remote-first culture, collaborative environment, and the autonomy that comes with our flat organizational structure—those are aspects we work hard to foster. We also appreciate your feedback regarding benefits and would like to clarify a few points for both you and future readers. Keeper offers top-tier health benefits, including medical plans with deductibles that are significantly lower than many companies of our size, all at a very competitive employee cost. In addition, we provide a robust 401(k) plan, as well as wellness benefits that include gym discounts and other health-focused perks. We recognize that benefits information can sometimes be overlooked or unclear during onboarding, and we’re always happy to help. If you’re not already familiar with the full scope of our offerings, we encourage you to reach out to the HR team for more details—we’d be glad to walk you through everything available to you. Thank you again for your thoughtful review and for being part of the Keeper team.

Pros

If you work here long enough there will eventually come a point when the late night slack calls, insults, and petty outbursts of the CEO no longer bother you. The random firings, the hyper aggressive emails (Strength and Honor?), the absence of management, training, thought leadership or meaningful progress will seem slightly odd, but no longer worth caring about. You will finally realize that this company is a joke; and while you may have wasted some time here, at least you will leave with enough horror stories to regal future colleagues for years to come. At that point you will fine peace. Namaste.

Cons

Keeper is a chaotic environment. This is true from the individual contributor level to the most senior roles, and across every department. There is no management layer because no serious professionals will put up with the level of disrespect and abuse that the CEO and CTO level on employees. At least a dozen senior leaders have joined an left in the last two years alone. These are professionals with decades of expertise. Instead of seeing this as a signal that something is wrong, the CEO immediately slanders them and calls them weak (yes he actually says that). The minimal management that does exist is laughably small for a company of Keeper's size and they have only survived by being yes men. That means no creativity, no expert opinion, no strategy. The entire operation is the CEO and CTO. It's the thinking of a 30 person company, not a 300 person company. As a result, the CEO and CTO attempt to "manage" all the way down to individual contributors. That means attacks, insults, public embarrassments, and harassment at all hours of the day. It really doesn't matter what role you're in. At some point the CEO or CTO will call you to scream about something. The ICs and low level managers that last more than 6 months do so through luck, or by deftly passing blame to someone else in the organization. Again, that leaves no space for the things that make a business successful. There is no collaboration, There is no passion. HR exists to perform terminations, not cultivate talent. Engineering fixes rushed deployments instead of innovating. Marketing SPAMs higher volumes instead of testing new strategies. Product... well, product doesn't actually event exist, but you get the point. It's impossible for a company to operate this way for long and the day it all falls apart is closer than anyone is willing to admit out loud. In short, there is no reason to join this company. For those of you still there, I wish you well and hope you know that the grass really is greener on the other side.

We strongly disagree with the characterization presented here, as it does not reflect the reality of Keeper Security, nor the experience of the vast majority of our employees. The statements regarding leadership conduct, company culture and organizational structure are wildly untrue. Keeper is led by experienced, driven executives who hold high standards, operate with transparency and are deeply invested in building a successful, scalable organization. We categorically reject claims of abuse or disrespect and take workplace conduct seriously across all levels of the company. Our leadership team is supported by seasoned professionals and managers who play a critical role in strategy, execution and team development and are committed to a robust work life balanced culture. Like many fast-growing technology companies, Keeper evolves continuously. Change, accountability and high expectations are part of building a world-class organization. We stand firmly behind our leaders and the teams driving that progress. We are proud of the talent across engineering, product, marketing and operations and we remain confident in the direction, culture and future of the company.
