Pros

Reviews that might be real: Any with "less than a year" because they are told to do it and don't know any better. Though many of those are fake too. Possibly some in El Dorado Hills because even though it is unbearable there, Chicago is where the real crazy is.

Cons

Here is how to tell if a review was created by management: Any written right after a bad review. They create fake reviews to try to bury the bad ones. Wrong perspective. Five minutes with management and you would know immediately because instead of notes to management, they are writing notes to the public. A perfect example is when they go overboard in praising themselves. The one titled "Great Company with a Clear Vision" is a perfect example. Any review that says no cons or "Hardly believe this is a con" or if the only con is "growing too fast." No normal people write these. Any that say "more that 5 years" because there are less than 5 people who have been there that long and that includes the co-founders. Turnover is rampant. The responses are equally bad. All of them are dictated by the CEO regardless of who he has actually post it. I believe the person who wrote "Awful" was threatened by a cease and desist order. They are lawsuit happy. Just Google "keeper security lawsuits" and it lights up. Also when people leave, the only concern management has is that the employee sign a contract with an anti-disparagement clause. So they know how they treat people isn't right. The response to "Not a Keeper" where the response at the end says "as evidenced by the numerous positive reviews and longevity of our core employee" is so cynical given the fake reviews and as mentioned before, so few people who have worked there very long. Finally, the response to "Run Away" where they say those are false attacks. Every part of that review is the truth. Every day.

As stated previously we always welcome feedback of any kind at Keeper as a chance to grow and expand. I would however like to take this opportunity to thank you for your constructive feedback, and comment on some items where I feel there is obvious confusion. As HR, I always have an open door as does all other executive level team members. As a current employee in the Chicago office I encourage you to come visit me and voice your concerns in a safe confidential environment where we together can help to address and fix any of the conduct issues that you might have. I would also like to give you my word that no one has been coerced to write a good review nor have any upper management written any of the positive reviews. Keeper is a great company to work for however, like all things, sometimes one size does not fit all and that’s ok! Secondly, as of today there are currently 14 employees who have been at the company over 5 years and 31 employees that have been with the company over 3 years. As noted previously at any company the average stay of a millennial worker is 18 months so we’re proud to have a young and committed workforce that believes in our vision with the numbers to back it up. To address your concern about who writes these responses, I will be very forthcoming and let you know that they are all written by the HR manager. As one of the longest term employees at a tenure of 10 years, I truly believe in the greatness of Keeper which lies in our employees and their immense talent and that enthusiasm comes out in my replies. Our goal is to make Keeper the best it can be, and I truly strive to do that everyday by implementing new and fun programs for our staff. As for your claim of threats, If you read the terms and conditions of Glassdoor you would know that employers can not take down reviews and this is protected under the laws of free speech so this is clearly not accurate. I apologize if you somehow got this misconception but I can attest it is untrue.

Pros

The company is fast-growing and offers opportunities to learn about cybersecurity products and the industry. Unfortunately, the toxic culture and poor management largely offset these positives.

Cons

Keeper Security has a hostile and toxic workplace culture. The CEO’s management style is authoritarian, and employees are expected to comply without question. Unreasonable demands are common, and employees are frequently terminated over relatively minor issues. Layoffs and turnover are alarmingly high, creating a constant culture of fear and instability throughout the company. Employees are afraid of senior leadership and tend to comply without speaking up. Promotions often feel unfair, as individuals favored by leadership are rewarded and promoted regardless of performance or capability. The work environment is toxic and unfriendly, with very little genuine collaboration or support among teams. There is a strong culture of tattling, where employees routinely report each other to management, which fosters distrust and encourages people to undermine one another rather than work together. My manager was often unresponsive to messages, regularly delaying my work. Feedback focused almost entirely on criticism, with little recognition even when results were strong. This is demotivating, and the environment is mentally draining and stressful, wearing employees down over time rather than supporting growth or well-being. Many employees come to work each day worried about losing their jobs. Due to the lack of psychological safety, high turnover, unfair treatment, and poor leadership culture, I strongly recommend others think carefully before joining this company. It has been one of the worst workplaces I have personally experienced.

We respectfully strongly disagree with the characterization of Keeper Security’s leadership and culture. As a fast-growing cybersecurity company, we operate with high standards, clear expectations, and strong accountability. This is not a culture of fear, but one built around performance, ownership, and the discipline required to succeed in a highly competitive and regulated industry. Regarding turnover and terminations, Keeper does not conduct arbitrary layoffs or terminate employees over minor issues. All separations are performance-related and follow structured processes that include clear verbal feedback and opportunities to improve. While performance conversations can be challenging, they are handled deliberately and consistently to ensure fairness and to protect the long-term health of the organization. We take all feedback about management and communication seriously and continue to invest in leadership development, performance coaching, and open channels for employees to raise concerns. We understand that a high-performance environment is not the right fit for everyone, but most of our employees grow, collaborate, and build long-term careers at Keeper. We remain committed to maintaining a professional, accountable, and results-driven workplace.

Pros

You get a free personal license of Keeper Security's password manager. Little else apart from that.

Cons

The CEO wants to be famous rather than effective at his job. If you are struggling, they will not help you. There is no sense of togetherness, everyone is out for themselves. Aggression and taking your bosses job is awarded. Diversity and inclusion is ignored. Navy Seal mantras and mottos are used to inspire people, even though Ireland has a history of civil war and has been a pacifistic state since WW1. Martial metaphors are used extensively and outline the pure aggression and desire to dominate other workers within the company. Stay clear.

The behaviors described are simply not part of Keeper’s ethos or culture, which promotes positive growth and development opportunities with constructive feedback and support for all of our employees.
