Pros
The only pro to this job is working from home.
Cons
As a chat or phone advisor for Apple products on the KellyConnect program, the job comes with several challenges and drawbacks. Firstly, the schedule requires working on weekends and without holidays off, since Apple operates 24/7. Additionally, getting approval for PTO days can be extremely difficult, and making any changes to your schedule is also a challenging process. The benefits offered by KellyConnect are expensive and out of network, which can be a burden for employees. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan One of the most significant issues with the job is the mental toll it takes due to the abuse from customers during calls and the pressure from management, who may find reasons to write you up. Advisors are only allowed a short 1-minute break between calls, and failing to adhere to this strict time frame could jeopardize your job security. The company's payment structure, where Kelly gets paid per call, keeps advisors always on the calls and even threaten their job security if they don't comply. Moreover, technical issues with the provided computer are often blamed on the advisor, and since Kelly isn't paid by Apple to fix these issues, it results in no pay for the advisor and an occurrence being counted against their record. The company's high turnover rate is attributed to its rigid policies and lack of flexibility. Many Team Leads have minimal phone experience but remain in their positions due to their close relationships with management. Advisors, on the other hand, have more phone experience as Kelly no longer hires permanent Team Leads, leading to frequent changes back to phone calls for advisors. The management's quality has deteriorated since 2021, and there are allegations of falsifying documentation against advisors in their coaching portal, which HR is aware of but will do nothing about about it. I personally witness this and the reasoning was to meet deadlines and rank stacking which is disgusting. The company's lack of notice before terminating employment is concerning, and they have been known for denying unemployment claims by making it appear as if it is the advisor's fault. Despite these challenges and negative aspects, the company has redesigned its mission statement, falsely claiming to provide the most rewarding environment for advisors, which is far from the truth. Overall, the job as a chat or phone advisor for Apple products on the KellyConnect program seems to be riddled with various issues, making it a difficult and demanding environment for employees.
