Pros

I was at Kenneth’s for a few years, as a licensed esthetician. I can’t even begin to describe how horrible the work environment and HR is. The HR women spoke horribly on the employees any time they had a chance. Which got back to the spas and salons like we would never find out lol… all the money goes to the HR people and estheticians made NOTHING!!! The head esthetician didn’t show up half the time to meetings and trainings like she was supposed too, making training the 2x longer. You get barely any personal time enough to cover sick days and vacation. You also work 11 hour shifts and if you don’t have any clients, you have to fold laundry or sit in your room all day by yourself, there is no going home to not waste your time... So many of the ladies who are working there are miserable and just trying to make it to retirement. Kenneth’s is outdated and poorly ran. The brands suck, the quality of services suck. It’s not worth working your butt off to get spoken poorly about by the CEO & HR and the hairstylist and not even be making enough money to pay your bills. You get wrote up for the dumbest reasons. There’s no cancellation policy so clients just no show and never come and basically send you home with no money and they don’t compensate you for that. Having your hair up in the pony tail during waxing services, having no makeup on, having a scuff on your shoe: WRITE UP! It’s a joke, if you want to be broke and be treated poorly this is the place to be. But truly, no one deserves to be treated the way the estheticians get treated at this establishment. They’re greedy and condescending, anywhere it better than here. Maybe don’t talk badly about other employees with OTHER employees during one on one meetings saying that people suck and they won’t be successful because we REFUSE to sell and make your pockets bigger. I can’t see this company doing well down the road. People don’t want to be worked and treated like dogs.

Pros

The training is okay but definitely not what they made it seem to be.

Cons

They will lie to you during the hiring process and make it seem to you that you will thrive so much and be making so much money. The corporate ladies are all bullies and love to gossip about everyone and tear people down. They are money hungry and genuinely do not care about their employees well being. You will be working 11-12 hour shifts and are required to work EVERY Saturday. You only have so many hours of personal time and if you go over you have to make up those hours even if you already are full time. This place is awful and I am physically and mentally drained from being here. You will have no time for yourself and will be punished if you choose to. It has truly killed my passion because they don’t care about anything but selling retail. They also will constantly try make you join into multiple contests at once with other co workers to see who can sell more retail or pre book clients…. I want to care for my clients and genuinely recommend them products because I know it will benefit them.. not just for an extra $10 to my paycheck. This place is an absolute joke and I hope nobody comes to work for them.

Pros

discounted services but you're expected to tip so much it almost negates the discount

Cons

This company is cheap, unprofessional, and unfair. For a company that makes an estimated 33 million dollars annually, they pay you so little that you quite literally cannot afford rent. Then when you're homeless and unable to wash your hair for work, they make fun of you. Management at Polaris is manipulative, rude, and unprofessional. They will offer you extra time off and then later hold it against you when they write you up for attendance. They expect you to bend over backwards for the salon and work at locations 6x the distance from the salon you were hired at with little to no notice, then they don't pay you for mileage. Have a family emergency? Management will write you up for trying to call off, even if you make it to the shift after they were petty and make you come in 15 minutes before your scheduled shift. The higher ups at the company want to pocket as much money as possible at the expense of their employees and clients. They do not hire adequate staff and expect employees to work OT to make up for it. They do not pay livable wages. If you want to be homeless and on food stamps, this is the employer for you.
