Pros

The building is pretty. The hotel stays occupied most of the year.

Cons

Terrible corporate managment. It seems they come up with terrible ideas based on no reasearch whatsoever. Than insist on sticking to the bad ideas after they clearly are failing. They do not hire experienced managers..thwy hire "soldiers" or people aillingto be come YES people.. Clones if you will...the kind that are happy to keep on keeping on with concept the guests hate. The managment rarely even interact with the guest unless the guest is extremely unhappy. But even in that case its near impossible to locate one. They never ask or listen to the employees suggestions. After all we are the ones that know what the guest like or dont like. We hear it every day. The so called GPs are very under appreciated and treated unequally. Some gp are held to stamdards and others can do as they please. All the women leaders in the st. Augustine kessler are condescending and talk to the employees like children. The men are just weak and inexperienced. They would know how to make a schedule if there lives depended on it. Until i find a better job.. I dream of the day that they realize the custo.ers comingto an extravagant resprt expect an extravagant restaurant... Not tapas and cheap white leather. I smile all day and y Tryto be the best I can but after years of managment turn over and being treated with zero respect. . I had to atleast warn future applicant of what youre walking into.

Pros

Beautiful setting near great restaurants and nightlife.

Cons

Management unappreciative of hard-working employees. Employee rewards system is a joke-it is hard to earn any decent rewards, unless you like cheap plastic dishes. Management make no effort to fix recurring problems. Hotel OS and printers are constantly down. Housekeeping and front desk areas chronically understaffed. Scheduling is poorly done and hotel occupancy is not taken into account when making schedules. Budget concerns are far more important than guest service and staff well-being. The hotel takes advantage of the international interns system for the tax break. The interns are only on the job for a year so they never have to increase the wages. There interns aren't given the instruction and training that should be a part of their experience in the US. They are simply stuck in the job for a year and left to it. Front desk managers give preferential treatment to some staff and treat others like dirt. If you're not 'in the club', you won't be valued. Your ideas and concerns are not listened to, you are not treated well. Step one foot wrong and they come down hard on you, while others get away with murder. Management claims to 'care' about employees, as long as you don't bring any personal concerns to work, ever.
