Great hotel management - corporate leaves more to be desired

Pros

The hotels in the collection are some of the best I have ever worked at, the on-site managers are all wonderful and go out of their way to make sure you succeed, everyone is there to help you out and you are able to be an individual while perfecting your style of hospitality. I do truly enjoy working at the property I am at and I enjoy working with those I see on a daily basis. This is a great company to work for if you are looking for a "stepping stone" to a higher up position. Your daily work allows you to also make your own decisions so long as they fall within company guidelines that are extremely reasonable.

Cons

The corporate office has an air of secrecy to it, it is as if they want nothing to do with the employees who spend so much time putting money into their pockets, when the employees do meet corporate some are made to feel like those in corporate are somehow better than everyone else simply because they have a higher up position or make more money (which they are very good at flaunting). I personally think this is why some line employees have such great resentment for the corporate office. They admittedly place a sense of foreboding over the properties because many employees either fear or dislike corporate. Also if you are hoping to get a job to pay bills... this company is not for you they pay the absolute minimum, even to their most experienced employees and overtime is so "taxed" you end making barely enough to pay bills let alone pay for something like college tuition, instead you end up working crazy work weeks, being underpaid, and unrecognized for the insane amount of hours you put in.

Pros

Money is decent but yeahhhh, not enough for the headache

Cons

The problems come from the top down. Nothing you say regarding operations really changes. All your real concerns go unheard while they quickly pounce on the fickle ones. Its the same if they harp on you for something you do. They nit pick but never take care of the real issues.
