Pros

They really do believe in their culture and truly strive for excellence. Their values and mission are great cornerstones and I truly believe they want the best for the company and employees.

Cons

The problem is: they don't actually follow-through on creating either a great culture or excellence for employees. Below are a couple criticisms I hope this company will consider and hopefully improve in the future: 1. Group Think: Another reviewer already said this, they do not want individuals - you either fall into line with their way of thinking or stay out of the way. Don't get me wrong, every company must have structure in place for things to run smoothly, what I am referring to is their harping on company culture to the point where it is almost a way of life. I mean they REALLY believe in culture there, sometimes it was hard not to get creeped out in the way they try to sway you into thinking the same way like referring to the company as a "family". I'm sure to a few people, that the sentiment of being in a "work family" is true (especially since a lot of people literally are from the same family there). But, as endearing as it sounds to be in one big, happy work-place family - the company is too large for it to really feel this way, there are too many people with too many differing goals and agendas to act like a family would act. As for me, I would rather be treated as a professional with respect than as a child in a "work family" (see #2). 2. Disrespect: They treat their employees like children and students. Their "coaching" and other all-to-reminiscent-of-grade-school tactics to get you to grow as an employee leave you feeling like a high schooler again scheming up ways to ask the teacher for a hall pass to get out of class. Cliques, mandatory classes, miniscule lunch breaks, and running for class president (they run for different groups just like a school campaign) - they have all those awkward and uncomfortable high-school mementos for you to relive right there within the Plattform building walls. 3. Professionalism: I have worked for several advertising agencies in both marketing and design. Plattform is NOT the norm. There are some major flaws when it comes to professionalism. I would even refer to their current 2013 culture handbook on their site. There is a page where the picture is cropped in a way that makes a man appear naked. Gross...and unprofessional. I read reviews like mine before I accepted the job at this company and thought it was just a bunch of disgruntled, rejected employees. I was wrong. They need to make some major changes starting with the culture they claim to have. I think their mission and values are in the right place, they just have been executing them both poorly.

Pros

Culture and employees, good benefits (I gave them a 3 on compensation on benefits...that is an average. I'd give a 2 for compensation and a 4 for benefits.)

Cons

Razor thin margins means everyone is constantly overloaded with more work than one person should have. Individuality is frowned upon: drink the Kool Aid or go home. The amount of crying and frustration witnessed on a regular basis were shocking. If you haven't been a part of the company from the beginning, then you are expendable. On the flip side, nepotism seems to be prevalent for family members of the founders.

Pros

Some of the lower level employees - most gone now!

Cons

There are so many it is impossible to list them all. Have never been employed by a more unethical company. The environment is comparable to going to high school. The CEO is a joke! They hire people based on friendship and family connections. Either you are in with the "IT" crowd or they fire you. The company sells this image of a wonderful culture, flexible environment but it is all a lie to get people in the door. They don't care at all about the people that work hard for them.
