Pros

Dynamic, truly flexible organization. Student and people-centered approach. First company in Australia I've worked at, where no-one has made racist or diminishing comments due to my ethnicity or origin. Colleagues are committed, very collaborative and inventive. Plenty of opportunities for learning and professional development, if one is willing to put in the time and effort. Great employee incentives to study with top Universities in Australia.

Cons

Not many, I guess a bit more money could always be welcome, especially in current times of inflation ;)

Pros

Benefits you'd expect from the publicly listed company, such as a nice office, discounted products and occasional staff perks. Plenty of challenges to solve if you're into the corporate game.

Cons

High staff turnover (way above normal rates) is definitely an issue, however it hasn't been addressed properly. The company positions itself as an EdTech constituents, however it's run as a call centre. The executives have built a very odd culture, almost acting as a club promoter making people believe they're part of some cool party. To that extent, the management's focus and internal investments (if any) are misplaced. Naturally, departments have evolved into isolated pockets, where some employees are shielded from daily grind and can comfortably earn their salaries, whereas others end up spending lots of hours compensating for various deficiencies that have evolved due to lack of investment, staff training and proper management oversight. You get a sense that executives are milking the company for its incentive packages with non existent performance hurdles. Leadership is underwhelming for a company presented as a global EdTech player.

Pros

Work life balance is amazing Supervisors are very people focused and care about everyone’s wellbeing Great benefits Love the people I work with

Cons

CEO Steve Fireng is often unprepared for global meetings. It is never clear what he’s speaking about and just throws out “business terms” to sound professional. His answers to questions are vague at best. I am grateful for our other amazing leaders as they clearly have it together and lead this company
