      Pros

      -managers have technical backgrounds that understand issues faced by engineering -good work life balance -collaborative culture brought over from the HP days provides lots of learning opportunities

      Cons

      -large company that is tied down by outdated equipment and obsolete code...brought over from the HP days -benefits not as good as the HP days -upper management seems to favor creating shareholder value over employee value -poor new hire retention

      Pros

      The company is pretty stable and the environment is low stress and flexible.

      Cons

      The Santa Clara site is old, shared with the Agilent site, and it had a rat problem. There are mostly older workers here and there are some people who do not know or show common courtesy, such as holding the door open for people when they are right behind you, for one. There are many cost cutting activities going on, with the operational work off-shored to Malaysia.

      Humane HR policies, genuinely nice people, good competitive position in its industry.

      Cons

      Its segment is growing slowly so there is limited opportunity for growth. Capital expenditure by its customers get cut during recessions. For example, during the 2008-2009 Great Recession there was a 10% temporary pay cut for a year and 25% layoffs
