Management is horrific in the customer service department. Treat people like nothing more than numbers and replaceable cogs. Policies are archaic and when confronted about them the response is "It could be worse". Regardless of performance, quality and quantity or extra work taken on everybody gets the exact same raise year after year. Despite their push that "You're all the same team" there is virtually zero cooperation between the different sections of customer service. In fact we were recently told we are not allowed to ask one of the other two leads for help so there is a single person responsible to answer all questions for a single team. If they aren't there, tough luck. Or try your hand at reaching out to upper management and hope they answer you before the end of the day. There are also issues with attendence policies. If you're a single minute late it counts the same as missing half the day. While that has never been an issue for me personally it is a joke of a policy. No policy for Flu, so if you get that you are expected to be at work. Doctors notes, even if from the ER do not excuse you from anything. So don't get injured. Some days you will have a person shadowing you and breathing down your neck for the entire day telling you what you're doing wrong. But don't worry they won't praise you for doing anything correctly or even if you have zero errors, only talk to you if something is wrong. They also keep pushing the minimum amount of work that needs to be done up but do not compensate you for that. Effectively squeezing every last drop of work they can out of people regardless of stress or work load for as little money as possible. All career opportunities in the CS department revolve around going to the phones team. So if you're looking for a career but don't want to have to move on to phones look elsewhere because you're not going anywhere here unless you swap departments.
