The Best Job with the Worst Management
Pros
The facilities were great, they had a good budget for new clean toys, everything was open and clean and well laid out, the kids and parents were both wonderful, and it was one of the most fulfilling jobs I've ever had. Pay was decent for the situation I was in. Allowed flexibility for planned scheduled changes.
Cons
Extremely understaffed - New hires would often quit on their first lunch break and just never come back because the manager was your stereotypical "Mean Girl". Management pitted employees against each other and discouraged working friendships. I had the flu and was heavily pressured into coming in to work anyways (around 1 year olds!) because they needed the bodies in the building to meet regulation. They fired a girl because she was pregnant and her morning-sickness kept taking her out of the classroom. Lots going on with staffing that was definitely not legal, but backed by a larger corporate entity that you don't dare try to take on.
