Horrendous

Pros

None. There are no pros to this job. They will give you nothing but trouble.

Cons

The pay was low, worked 8-9 hour shifts with no break, they tried to force me to sign an abandonment of job notice dated for a day I was there and had finished my shift, the other employees would come to the kitchen without the proper food handler attire to gossip about one another, the teachers would eat the food prepared either from the pot or would eat the food and only give the kids a very small portion, there wasn’t enough products to prepare for the demand of people, I was expected to cook and clean for 300 plus people on my own, they tried to withhold my final check while still trying to force me to sign papers I was not required by the state to sign, the management sucks and is beyond messy. Would stay as far away from this place as possible.

Each Child Matters

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

- Creating unique bonds with each child, watching them grow and prosper, and knowing that you assisted in each child's progress in development since they have been in your class. - Having a Co-Teacher that you can count on and who will assist you throughout the day.

Cons

- There is not enough staff and a need for more subs and teachers in general. Upper management scolds and guilt trips you if you call in within the proper time frame since you are sick. If you show up, then the administration guilt trips you into staying, even though you are sick and should not be exposing the unknown or known illness in a childcare setting. - The child(ren) is not the main focus; if the child's development falls out of the status quo "social norms," they push the student out of the school.

Love the kiddos

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

The kiddos are awesome, the job itself is great. They curriculum is good and you get to be creative with it. Love my coworkers so much! Good pay for the field

Cons

Lack of communication or miscommunication with management, constantly chaotic and as teachers we get no time to prep or prepare. We are extremely understaffed and still enrolling children consistently without hiring anyone new. No 401K matching
