Where are the cost of living raises?

Pros

Work from home. Your peers/team

Cons

Once a year there are merit based raises which I understand, but even employees who go above and beyond consistently meeting and often exceed required numbers/emboding the company culture etc still meet expectations and then get a merit based raise of 2-4% which is barely cost of living raises. While most every other company I've seen and worked for previously provided a once a year cost of living raise usually 3-5% on top of merit based raises which at minimum were 5%

Pros

Remote Company/Work from home benefit

Cons

Despite promoting a culture of transparency, this company operates in a manner that contradicts that principle. Leadership, including HR, fosters a toxic work environment where trust is scarce. Employees who dedicate significant effort often find their contributions undervalued and deemed insufficient. Decision-making appears inconsistent, with leadership lacking clear direction. Additionally, individuals are placed in roles for which they may not be suited. Rather than valuing employees as individuals, the company treats them as mere numbers. While initial impressions from recruiters may be positive, new hires quickly realize there is little guidance, and compensation and benefits fall short of expectations.

Pros

Kin is one of h tbh e few innovative companies I’ve worked at that strive to have everyone heard and act on feedback in a way that balances business and employees fairly. They are experiencing massive growth in a sector that seems to be pulling back on insurability and innovation. Sales reps have reasonable goals and metrics that make success possible with the right ethic, attitude, and coaching. The comp plan can be a little confusing if you don’t fully understand averages over the quarter but for a job that is fully remote, provides better than average equipment, and dedicated management staff for assistance - I don’t think you can ask for much better. Quality assurance is scored on compliance which is understandable being a regulated industry and the selling expectations are loose enough to allow you to be yourself in the phones but do require you to actually try to sell each customer if kin is competitive.

Cons

With a rapidly growing company and environment things can change quickly and that might not be for everyone. They aren’t a legacy carrier who sticks with the status quo. If change and challenge makes you uncomfortable this may not be the place for you.
