Pros

Job Security is really good at King County; The work environment is very supportive, especially in regard to medical needs; Turnover is rather low; The medical benefits are incredible, not to be beat by any private employer; Personal drug use policy is very respectful and reasonable; The union is very strong; Comphenstion is competetive.

Cons

Management is very spotty; Poor management will not result in termination, therefore managers presenting difficulties for employees are shuffled laterally, making this manager now your problem; Change is always top-down; Young, fresh energy is not regarded fondly and new ideas from lower on the ladder are often disregarded out of hand: Adaptation is avoided at all costs.
