Huge organization with pockets of poorly managed units and well lead units. It's like a box of chocolate.

You can't beat the benefits. The pay is very good for administrative jobs, as well as professional positions. County offices are all around the county, not just downtown.

Cons

Bureacracy is rampant across the county. Thanks to lean and continuous improvement some progress is being made to eliminate unnecessary work. Lots of aging employees hanging on to keep their salary and benefits.
