Pros

Manageable work and personal life tradeoff. You can't be compelled to work long hours and weekends. Hourly pay plus overtime pay. Plenty of time off. Excellent benefits. King County is an easy place to work.

Cons

Boring work. No chance for big money. You don't get any more for being successful Slow advancement King County is not very satisfying because you don't do anything constructive. It is only regulatory - almost a policing function

There is good and bad at any workplace but for the most part i enjoyed working at King County.

Pros

Benefits and holidays are the best. Salary is very good. There are many different departments and plenty of opportunities to increase your skills and advance your career. It is also very rewarding to help the public through what they sometimes call bureaucracy. And to let them know that someone cares.

Cons

Working in management for the government means being up for beatings in the media when issues arise in the workplace.
