Great benefits even for part time, predictable work flow, some teams dedicated to community and making a difference in the county.
Cons
Working weekends for several months for CAFR preparation, takes over your life for half the year. Little chance of advancement unless you leave for another position. Bitter long term employees. My Story: Hired as senior accountant , FTE in Dept of Exec Services. Performance Review and everything good until hiring manager took temp position in another group, Interim manager took over, put me on a performance plan and documented each week review. The interim manager convinced senior management to extend my probation to 9 months, dismissed at end of probation, no severance, just get your things and leave. Would really recommend not giving up your current job if you're even reasonably happy where you are. Doubt you would find the work rewarding in Finance, Dept of Executive Services
