Pros

Easy commute. Air conditioned building.

Cons

There is a kind of apartheid at King County - between the full time workers with benefits and the part time masses cycled through jobs shamelessly. This process is enhanced by the dangling of potential full time jobs. My supervisor was a result of nepotism - he was unemployable otherwise and he received his job because his boss was his mother-in-law. This was a wildly known fact... hundreds of people were aware. I was criticized at one point for not responding to a text to MY PRIVATE phone.

Pros

The Assessor's office has a lot of really smart people. Collaborative work environment. Pretty good technology.

Cons

Some of the tech is dated. No incentives. Some people can get away with their bad attitudes or poor work ethic.

Pros

Excellent benefits, retirement plan, and salary for mid-management positions

Cons

Large bureaucracy which one's voice and unique perspectives are subordinate to the political wimp and correctness of politicians.
