Pros

There is some challenging work available, good salary and the ability to shape your own destiny within the company. With the right advocates, the sky is the limit.

Cons

Beware the regional good old boy network. Offices with entrenched leadership are not looking out for their employees or recognizing those who truly have passion for pushing the company to succeed. You can do great work, but run afoul of one personality and it is all for naught. The company rewards those with mediocre talent who quietly put in the years. Those with vision and a voice do not get the support to make positive change. C level management is useless, the Regional Managers run this company.

Pros

Worked with some extremely smart, friendly and great people. Senior technical staff is very knowledgeable. Good opportunity for entry level engineers to learn a lot. Employees are hard working and dedicated. Some interesting projects and clients. Qualified Project Manager track available. Flexible hours and schedule. Free lunches. Nice office.

Cons

Next to no training or mentoring programs or focus on learning in general. No clear technical leadership track for engineers. Disconnect between service lines and offices. No clear direction for business development, going after projects that company does not have experience/specialization in. Company is in a time of transition and if you wait it out it, it certainly may pay off, but I did not want to. Large amount of employee turn around. No overtime or comp time. Unclear employee bonus program.
