Toxic pressure and high turnover

Pros

The product has some strong aspects, but it’s ultimately outdated, and customers are already planning to replace us at their next renewal.

Cons

The new CEO has been very difficult to work under. There’s a lack of structure and clear vision, and he hasn’t been able to inspire the team. Instead, the focus has shifted to constant pressure to perform, which often feels excessive. My manager is worried about job security, and that stress trickles down to the rest of us. I have been shouted at and more. HR won't do nothing. Turnover has been extremely high—people are leaving left and right. Someone I spoke with last week is already gone, and several more are expected to leave soon. Many of the new hires seem to have prior connections with the CEO or other managers, and it’s obvious who’s in the inner circle. Customer complaints are increasing, making it hard to stay motivated. Competitors are ahead, and we’re often asking customers to wait for features that take a long time to deliver—and don’t always work as expected. Instead of focusing on fixing issues, the company seems more focused on letting people go. This is a very toxic place.

Pros

Fantastic coworkers, nice office, decent PTO plan when you can afford to take time off

Cons

Unrealistic expectations to hit KPIs that don’t update as our workload continues to increase with our scope of support. The position has become significantly more technical and challenging despite no compensation increase, and management has explicitly stated there are no plans for this as we continue to support more products. The support department had rather measure and base your performance on how quick you are to press a button rather than your ability to help customers or resolve issues. Don’t expect to be trained adequately on any of our products before being thrown into the frying pan. That isn’t even touching the company-wide issues that have appeared after our CEO change and PE acquisition.

Pros

There are still a lot of good people working at KnowBe4. Not just old timers but new hires as well. The rank and file create a positive environment to work in. Unfortunately they're not the ones who make decisions anymore.

Cons

I was on the fence about the new CEO for a long time. But here we are in February and still haven't received our year-end raises (for US employees. I'm not sure about other countries but hope they are treated better.) I'm told the package of raises is on the CEO's desk and just awaiting his approval. Other than telling us in an AMA that we shouldn't expect COLA and raises are earned at this company. If that's true, the implication is that not a single US employee earned a raise in 2025. I think what's more likely is that the CEO either thinks he can get away with stringing the employees along, or he just doesn't care what we think. If the raises are so important that they have to be personally approved by the CEO, they should be important enough for him to make time to approve them. This is the first time the raises have been delayed like this, but I've worked at a place before that fell into a cycle of delay and then pay cuts and once you've started down that slope it's hard to get off of it.
