Pros

Benefits are definitely great and competitive. Transparent CEO. Team feeling for the company as a whole. They solicit their benefits a lot in recruiting. Lots of ERG options. Culture was great during the startup but unfortunately it has become a more corporate environment. Some of the employees you meet and relationships you create are awesome.

Cons

It depends what department you are in and who your manager is, as that will determine what benefits you can actually take advantage of, such as their “unlimited time off” policy. Marketing management is chaotic and very poor leadership in place. (Examples of direct experience throughout the years include SVP denying PTO because you’re told you are taking too much time off or “not enough coverage” because they won’t hire support in a timely manner, unprofessional verbal comments, toxic culture and unrealistic demands from management, etc.) Most within the department are overloaded with too much expected from just one employee. Employees within the department are definitely taken advantage of if you do not set boundaries for your own mental health. Growth in marketing directly is turned down without explanation other than “not enough experience” and it may depend who you are personally to management. When issues are told to upper management, nothing is done. Unprofessional connections within the company with upper management that results in special treatment, heads will turn the other with upper management/SVPs who directly violate policy and culture.

Hello. I am glad to hear there is so much you loved about KnowBe4 as a company. As for your experience in your department and with your leadership, I want you to know that I do take these reviews very seriously and will investigate further. As you said, people quit managers, which is why we invest so heavily into management training and provide consistent support to managers so they can best support their teams. Of course hearing about situations as they occur assist our team in being able to resolve these types of issues. Our goal is to create an amazing work environment where any employee could have any manager in the organization and receive the same great treatment and level of support. I wish you the very best in your future endeavors and thank you for your feedback.

Wow! This is a serious accusation. I would love to know who you are speaking of specifically. If you give a name I will review right away hr@knowbe4.com. Our background checks are done annually for all employees and we are very stringent in what we review and consider as an issue (our BK check policy is like 15 pages long for the exact details as you know :) ). If this is based on previous employment I would again need to know the specifics of what was misrepresented. As far as senior management and its review of interactions with specific customers: First: We trust our employees!!!! We are not going to have a manager breathing down your neck, micro-managing all you do. That is not our style and we consider that all of us Knowsters should be on the same page and the reason an employee is hired is because they are a great cultural fit. Second: Stu has a very open communication with Customers. He even checks when each person is onboarded that they are satisfied with the KB4 service, product and employee that they interacted with. Third: The managers, directors, VP's, SVP's, Growth team and coaches do have their finger on the pulse of what is happening with our customers. Our goal, one of the most important ones we have, is the success of our customers with our product. This leads me to ask you again to send me the information so I can look into and fix any situation so that we can keep this amazing rocket-ride going!! Deal?

Pros

Salary. Free food and bonuses. View.

Cons

My department had a downright disorganized, degrading, inconsiderate, nasty manager. She was still there when I left. The open door policy certainly didn’t work the handful of times my associates and I went to HR. The CEO was aware of the situation and nothing was fixed. In fact, it got worse. Successful company, but I highly recommend you proceed with caution. My experience was a great disappointment. My expectations were high.

I am sorry to hear that you felt your voice wasn't heard. Sometimes when a company expands at the rate we are that can happen even in the best attempts to avoid it. If you are willing, I would like to still try to resolve it. You can reach out to me at hr@knowbe4.com. We never want unhappy employees.
