Pros

Employee discounts are definitely the best perk of working at Kohls, Inc. I worked for Kohls for 3 years, and enjoyed the discounts and knowing the sales beforehand. Kohl's offers many benefits and new training programs for associates. Kohls also demostrates good management within the company and within the stores. Store associates get along and all discuss problems that they might have without having to hide it from each other. Kohls is a good place to be if you like working with people.

Cons

Management is rude and condescending. If you missed your credit goal, you would be berated infront of fellow employees. In case they are unaware, we are in a credit crisis, and most people do NOT want to be spending money.

Pros

The other employees, and of course the employee discount!

Cons

The constant demands for credit cards. Ever wonder why EVERYTIME you shop there, there is a five minute long coverstation of trying to sell you a credit card? It's because it is forced upon the cashiers to sell it, in fact it is in our reveiws that we Must be able to get people (even people who don't need one - like the "oh, I just filed bancrupsy excuse" the answer to that is - well, applying won't hurt your score! As much as the customers hate it - belive me the employees hate it more. I don't mind mentioning it - but come on now!

Pros

My coworkers make life at Kohl's tolerable. They are some of the nicest and most helpful people I have ever met. Additionally, there are a few managers who are decent here too.

Cons

Senior management is only concerned with the numbers (ie how many credit applications the associates open every day, did the store make the daily sales goal or not). Favoritism runs rampant at this store and some managers practically ignore you if you aren't one of their pets. Senior management also will lie to your face and tell you what you want to hear so you will leave them alone (for example, if you bring up your concerns about the number of hours you are getting they will tell you it will get better even if they don't mean it). I've always been a very hard-working employee but I'm getting increasingly frustrated by the way business is conducted here. It seems like management is trying to get some of the employees to quit.
