Pros

Benefits are ok. The employees you work with are usually nice. The work is easy.

Cons

Pay isn't very good. Union does nothing. The Store manager is a stuck up. He only cares about his shelves being filled and not about you. They lie to you about promotions to get you to do more work than you have to. Most customers are nice but some are absolutely rude. Most employees have a very bad attitude. Organization is a joke. No one follows Kroger rules.

Pros

Shift goes by fast since you never get to get off of your feet.

Cons

It’s a game and people will throw you under the bus to get ahead and this includes supervisors and managers. The work load is insane and you are not paid for what you do as well as they find ways to take money from your paychecks. You are not appreciated at all for the loyal and hard work you do to prove yourself to want to make a career out of being there. ZERO work life balance as they claim.

Toxic Company

Pros

Pay and insurance. That's it.

Cons

Incredibly toxic company. Management that has been around more than 10 years is usually good, but managers with less than 10 years and district staff are terrible. Advancement from Assistant Manager and up seems to be based on sucking up rather than merit, competence, or even seniority. My last district manager had no clue about how pickup worked and wanted insane metrics to be hit, like 100% pick rate. I still don't know how to hit 100% when the shelves are bare, and in that case, it's your fault for not getting the item from thin air, rather than the warehouse or transport's fault for either not getting it in or not bringing it to the store. Constant hour cuts. They expect one person to do the work of 10 people. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to run a Marketplace location with a dozen people. The company always pleads poverty when it comes to increasing pay, while making well over projected profits.
