Pros

- Potentially some interesting problems to work on depending on your department - Good work life balance

Cons

Lots of managers, and lots of clueless leadership. The company is looking build out its tech and software capabilities but they don't have good leadership in this area. There are a lot of teams with poor guidance and bad management. Some parts of the company must be well managed, but the tech and software parts are absolutely not. They try to get teams to work together with no good guidance on how to do so, this results in endless meetings with nothing being accomplished. The project management is horrible.

Pros

Tech driven analysis which is efficient

Cons

Extremely long hours Work till 4am on Saturday (is it even legal?) Terribly damaging to physical and mental health Poor management No personal boundary (you might get call from supervisor anytime anywhere, even on weekends, even 12am at night) Extremely profit driven - firm promise clients mission impossible and push the teams extremely hard to get to the extremely tight deadline just to please the clients

Pros

Genuinely good people at the Analyst, Senior Associate and VP levels.

Cons

Tough to work for MDs in this group. Bad team culture with managing directors constantly making analysts, SAs and VPs feel unappreciated. As a result, junior people have zero motivation to work for their bosses and are constantly looking to leave. There is almost not a single legacy person below MD who works in the group anymore, they have all gone across the street where pay is much better, or took pay cuts to get away from this team. Toxic Culture! Upper management does not care at all about investing in their employees. Pay your lower level employees who are the ones keeping the ship afloat! CEO is a phony. Couldn't be more disconnected from the reality of the day to day work.
