Pros

I thought the hours were great for a part-time high school job. I was able to come straight from school and help out at the center, grade work, and tutor kids in mathematics.

Cons

Sometimes the work would all pile up at once, and I'd feel pretty busy. However looking back on it now I know that's what normal jobs are like all of the time.

Pros

Set weekly schedule, the children were mostly middle school age so it was simple to tutor them, all the students get the same worksheets/problems.

Cons

Only 11 hours/week max. Kumon has their own curriculum, so you had to teach the student exactly how the book says it. Sometimes, I would know an easier way to do a problem, but I would have to teach the student the "kumon way"

Pros

I did not have to worry about my friends seeing me work and it was pretty close to my home.

Cons

It was very challenging balancing this job with school. Right after school I had to grade high level math for 5 hours everyday for only minimum wage. Also the job gave no perks and was weirdly strict on bathroom breaks. I had no leisure time and was always grading. If you are high school student do yourself a favor and work in retail.
