Pros

Great company to work for. My team was very helpful and took time to teach me things as a lot of the stuff I was doing was new. Everyone was kind and respectful and really helped give me a lot of confidence in my work.

Cons

I think the position should have been paid higher, but other than that, no cons.

Pros

If you are looking for a professional environment with really smart, hardworking people, look no further. The company provides and encourages continuing education. In addition, to an online learning platform that is available to employees 24/7, the company pays for in-person courses. As of the spring of 2024, employees that score well on quarterly reviews receive a bonus. The company also gives each employee a $35/month lifestyle credit in the form of a debit card that can be used for anything from dry cleaning to haircuts. Hours can be long at times, but the management encourages employees to pace themselves and take time off when needed. The company also provides opportunities for employees to find the position that suits them best. For example, if you start in the grants department and find that you are more suited for IT, management will work with you to enhance your IT skills and change projects if appropriate. The company also focuses on giving back to the community through a number of volunteer projects.

Cons

Employees that have been with the company less than five years receive a total of 15 days per year of PTO. This includes sick days, personal days and vacation. If you are someone who likes to travel, there is little opportunity to do so without saving up all of your days one year in advance. Basically, if you get Covid or the flu and celebrate certain religious holidays, you have no time to take off.

Pros

Below the C-Suite and management layer, the people are amazing.

Cons

The C-Suite is the center of the toxic environment. They disparage people in front of other employees. Their level of unprofessionalism is off the charts. They purposely pitted me against 2 coworkers. It made no sense then and it still makes no sense. Luckily, 6-9 months later, I consider those 2 coworkers friends. They have no real plan for growth. Their sense of growing is to bid everything, regardless of past performance qualifications. The proposal team works countless hours for terrible pay and no real comp structure. And when they don’t win, it’s blamed on the proposal team…not on the lack of shaping, lack of customer intimacy, or lack of technical understanding. The prop team is expected to take non-solutions and turn them into winning proposals. They hire experts and then they ignore their sound advise. We gave leadership different pathways to growth, and would only listen if a high priced consultant told them the same thing.
